FIP Promises South Africa: Junior Padel Tournament Archive

South African junior padel has entered an exciting new era. Through the FIP Promises circuit, young players can compete in internationally recognised tournaments at home, earn experience against players in their own age groups and begin building a pathway into the global game.

This living archive follows the development of FIP Promises in South Africa, including tournament dates, host venues, official event posters, results links and future events. It will be updated as the national junior calendar continues to grow.

Archive notice: Tournament information is checked against official International Padel Federation records. Draws, results, player lists and schedules may be updated by the organiser or FIP. Always consult the linked official event page for the final record.

What Is FIP Promises?

FIP Promises is the International Padel Federation’s junior competition pathway. It gives developing boys and girls the opportunity to compete in age-group tournaments conducted within an international structure.

Events commonly include the following categories, subject to sufficient entries:

  • Boys and Girls Under 12
  • Boys and Girls Under 14
  • Boys and Girls Under 16
  • Boys and Girls Under 18

Depending on entries, categories may be played as elimination draws or round-robin groups. Tournament pages generally provide player lists, draws, results, schedules and venue information.

For South African juniors, the circuit creates a valuable bridge between local development and international competition. Players can learn tournament preparation, teamwork, match discipline and the demands of competing across several days.

Why FIP Promises Matters for South African Junior Padel

The arrival of FIP Promises has given young South African players access to structured international competition without needing to travel overseas for every tournament.

The benefits extend beyond rankings and results. Junior players gain experience in:

  • Preparing for an official tournament
  • Competing in age-appropriate categories
  • Following published draws and orders of play
  • Playing under qualified tournament officials
  • Managing pressure, recovery and match routines
  • Meeting players from other regions and countries
  • Developing long-term sporting goals

The programme also gives coaches, parents, clubs and sponsors a clearer platform around which to build junior development.

South African players have subsequently travelled to compete internationally, demonstrating how a local tournament pathway can open the door to wider experience.

The Beginning of FIP Promises in South Africa

The first tournament listed by FIP as FIP Promises South Africa took place at Golden Point Padel Club in Centurion from 9 to 13 July 2025.

The event offered boys’ and girls’ competition in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups. The official tournament information listed five match courts, one practice court, player facilities and live streaming from the quarter-finals on the main court.

This inaugural event was an important milestone: South African junior players could now experience an official FIP junior tournament on home soil.

South African Junior Achievements

The value of the tour can already be seen in the progression of South African junior players. Local competitors have gained international ranking experience, reached finals, won categories and travelled to events outside South Africa.

These achievements should be viewed as part of a longer development journey. Junior competition is not only about collecting trophies; it teaches players how to prepare, respond to pressure, learn from losses and improve through repeated exposure to quality opposition.

To protect accuracy and the privacy of young players, this archive will publish named results only where they are confirmed by official FIP draws or supplied by the event organiser with permission.

International Opportunities for South African Players

South African juniors are no longer limited to domestic events. Participation in the FIP Promises structure can expose players to international tournaments, different playing conditions and a broader competitive standard.

Public reporting has highlighted South African juniors travelling to Spain and entering overseas FIP Promises competition. These experiences allow players to assess their level, learn from established padel environments and bring that knowledge back into the local game.

The growth of the South African calendar also creates opportunities for international junior pairs to compete locally.

How to Enter a FIP Promises Tournament

From January 2026, FIP instructed players entering applicable FIP Promises events to register through the PadelUNO player platform and obtain the required annual FIP Promises subscription.

The general process is:

  1. Create the junior player’s account on the official FIP/PadelUNO platform.
  2. Complete the required player details and annual subscription.
  3. Ensure the player’s partner completes the same process.
  4. Send and accept the pairing request.
  5. Register the pair for the chosen tournament before the deadline.
  6. Confirm the player list, draw and order of play on the official event page.

Requirements can change. Families should always follow the instructions on the relevant tournament page and contact the organiser when uncertain.
